Legal terms
1. Imprint and seller
Aaron SchwarzerArtistic name: THE ONLY
Bellevuestrasse 1
10785 Berlin, Germany
Telephone: +49 176 62830148
Electronic contact: the acquisition inquiry form on the home page
VAT / tax identification: provided in the purchase agreement and on the invoice.
THE ONLY is the artist's public name. The seller of the artwork, and the party to any purchase agreement, is Aaron Schwarzer.
2. Nature of this website
This website presents one conceptual artwork, THE UNPRICED COIN (identifier TO-001). It is an exhibition with an invitation to inquire. It is not a conventional online shop, and no contract is concluded by browsing the site, sending an inquiry or clicking any button on it.
3. Asking price
The asking price of USD 999,999.99 is an artistic proposition, not an established market valuation. The seller makes no statement and gives no assurance that the artwork will hold, gain or lose value, and nothing on this site is financial, investment or tax advice.
4. How a purchase is concluded
There are two routes. Neither is completed by browsing the site or sending an inquiry.
(a) Direct purchase by card. When you confirm these terms and pay through the Stripe payment page, you make a binding offer to buy THE UNPRICED COIN for USD 999,999.99. By default your card is only authorised at this point, not charged. The contract is concluded when the seller confirms acceptance by email, normally within seven days. The seller may decline, for example if verification is incomplete or the artwork has already been sold. In that case the authorisation is released or any payment is refunded in full, and no contract exists. Only one such sale is possible: the artwork is a single original.
(b) Private acquisition. After an inquiry, a purchase is concluded when a written purchase agreement has been signed by both seller and buyer. Until then, either party may end discussions at any time without giving reasons.
5. The artwork
THE UNPRICED COIN is a digital 3D artwork: a coin of polished black marble bearing a single numeral 1, edged in silver, whose face is a field of stars. The artwork is the master file TO-001.glb (glTF 2.0 binary, created 21 October 2026), identified by the SHA-256 checksum published on the home page. The site shows the artwork live in 3D; the lighting and reflections of the viewer are not part of the file.
The artwork is not a currency, legal tender, security, financial instrument or crypto-asset, and it carries no right to redemption or payment.
6. Verification
Before a sale, the seller may require proof of the buyer's identity and, where required by anti-money-laundering or sanctions rules, information on the origin of the funds. The seller may decline any inquiry. The buyer may in turn request verification of the seller's identity, the master file's checksum and the finality declaration.
7. Payment
The price is USD 999,999.99, payable once and in US dollars. Direct purchase: payment is by card through Stripe (for customers in the European Economic Area, Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.). The seller never sees your card number and never asks for card details by email or inquiry form. Private acquisition: payment by bank transfer or as set out in the purchase agreement.
Taxes (including any applicable VAT), bank charges and payment-provider fees, and who bears them, are stated in the confirmation or purchase agreement and on the invoice.
8. Delivery
Delivery is the transfer of the master file TO-001.glb together with the certificate of authenticity, the specification and provenance record, the checksum manifest and the executed finality declaration. It takes place after the seller has confirmed the purchase and the payment has been received in full and cleared, by the secure method set out in the confirmation or purchase agreement. The buyer should verify the checksum on receipt.
If you are a consumer with a right of withdrawal, delivery begins only after the 14-day withdrawal period has expired, unless you have expressly asked for earlier delivery in the purchase dialog and acknowledged that your right of withdrawal ends once the artwork has been delivered.
Because digital files can be copied, the confirmation or purchase agreement sets out how the single master is held and transferred, and how copies are handled, instead of this being assumed.
9. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including the artwork, texts, images and design, is © Aaron Schwarzer / THE ONLY. Owning the artwork does not by itself transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights. The rights the buyer receives are exactly those stated in the purchase agreement.
10. Finality declaration
On 23 October 2026 the artist executed a revised declaration (revision 2, superseding the declaration of 21 October 2026) that THE UNPRICED COIN is the sole artwork released or offered for sale under this or any other artistic identity, that the artist will not create, authorize, publish or sell any other digital artwork, edition or product under any name, pseudonym or artistic identity, and that there will be no sequel, additional edition or subsequent collection. The declaration was made electronically, with a typed signature. It is published on the home page with its checksum and is not notarized. It does not restrict private notes, working drawings, correspondence or non-artistic digital documents.
11. Consumers
If you are a consumer, mandatory statutory consumer rights under the law that applies to you remain unaffected. For direct purchases, a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from the conclusion of the contract may apply. To withdraw, send a clear statement to the contact details in section 1; the confirmation email contains the full withdrawal information. As described in section 8, the right of withdrawal ends if you have expressly requested earlier delivery and the artwork has been fully delivered.
12. Liability
The seller is liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law requires. For slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. The seller is not responsible for the content of external websites, and the site is provided without any guarantee that it will be available without interruption.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where a consumer lives. If the buyer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Berlin.
14. Consumer dispute resolution
The seller is neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
15. Changes and severability
The seller may update these terms for future inquiries. If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
